After disastrous start in the IPL season 5, Kings XI Punjab have made strong come back after winning two of three last games.

Sight will be at the IPL Points table when Kings XI will play defending Champions Chennai Super Kings at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk on Saturday.

This will be the first game for Kings Xi Punjab at Cheapuk in the IPL 2012. In 2011, Punjab had defeated Chennai in a super over match.

In the absence of regular skipper Adam Gilchrist, Punjab have displayed much improved performance. They won their last two games against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, Punjab lost a close battle against Mumbai in the previous game. Punjab managed to put 168, 164, and 163 runs on board in last game and hopefully they would continue their good show here against Chennai too.

Nitin Saini and Mandeep Singh have provided good opening partbnership in last three games, which allowed skipper David Hussey and Shaun Marsh to play freely in middle order.

On the other hand, Chennai are inconsistence in the IPL 2012 so far. However, CSK are at No.3 in the point table but their performance is unnoticeable.

Apart from Faf du Plessis and S Badrinath, star players like Suresh Raina and skipper MS Dhoni have failed to impress with their performances. R Ashwin’s failure with the ball is another reason of concern for Chennai.

However, Chennai have won 18 matches and lost 7 games here at their home backyard. Dhoni aims to batting revival when both the sides will oplay against each others at 4.00 pm on Saturday.
